THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM HAS faced major challenges while testing for Covid 19. safety of the healthcare workers is a primary concern. the limited supply and high cost of Personal Protective EQUIPMENT (PPE) is a problem. the limited number of testing CENTRES in urban and rural areas limits accessibility for testing. movement of population for testing also comes with the threat of the virus spreading further.
The cov-erd mobile and portable sample collection station is an innovative solution for safer and more efficient sample collection from virus ‘HOTSPOTS’, containment zones, remote areas, or any locality not having a sample collection facility.
The safe and secure cabin allows for contact-less sample collection, protecting the healthcare worker while negating the need for PPE which IS both expensive and in limited supply.
The mobile and portable design prevents the spread of the virus by enabling sample collection services to travel to affected people and areas, rather than the population having to travel for testing.
the cov-erd pop-up booth is powered - able to SUPPORT necessary healthcare equipment on-the-go. it reduces sample collection and transport costs, while improving efficiency OF sample collection and logistics.
A COV-ERD kiosk also enables ‘pool testing’ anywhere. pool testing - collecting a large number of samples and testing them at once - is proven to be the most effective and efficient way to achieve large scale testing, considering the limited supply and high cost of test kits.
